Update 11/18/2014:I changed my rating to five stars based on the quality and comfort of these clogs, having worn them for several days now. They are a dream and more beautiful than my Sanitas. They look like REAL hand made clogs should look and are unique. And I am now a half inch taller with these, versus my Sanitas! I love the feel of them, and the little big toe insert in the foot bed is nice. I treated the upper with a high quality leather cream per the instructions, which helps protect against moisture, scuffs, and scratches.The rest of the initial review stands and I will update once the seller and Amazon fix the incorrect item description (what was received was ALL BLACK, and not as the page shows, which disappointed me, since I did not want all black, but wanted what I ordered). The seller assured me they would work with Amazon to correct the problem. Still, they are SO beautiful and fit perfect, just as my old Sanita's of same size: 44 Euro. I was afraid after reading other reviews that I should order a half size larger than I normally wear using the conversion chart. Not so in MY experience, as they were true to my euro size based on other purchases. I wear between a 10.5 and 11 US.Original review:I'm actually not sure how to review this. I will begin by stating I ordered the black clog upper shown, which also had a natural colored alder wood base (not black). The clog received has a black base so is ALL black. No where in the pages description does it indicate differently, so I ordered one clog and received a different one. This is misleading and now I am faced with whether to keep them or send them back. I wonder whether this issue is with Amazon's description, as after I placed the order, all photos included with any correspondence show I ordered the all black version. As I write, that is what is showed to the top left of the review. So, after ordering, I wondered what would be in the box, and sure enough it was NOT what I ordered based on Amazon's description.Now, in looking at the clogs, they are certainly beautiful and fit as they should just trying them on once in the house on carpet. So how to rate them? If nor for this issue, I would give 5 stars. As such, and until this issue is fixed I cannot. I wanted and ordered the ones in the photo and spent considerable time finding these on the Amazon site, so it was a waste of time, as I did not want them in all black and would not have ordered them had I known. Are they even available as pictured? And as the sizes were almost out of stock, I felt lucky to even find them at all. Will I keep them or send them back? I have not decided, but will see if they are available elsewhere first.They do appear well made and the leather is beautiful!!! But they also have a higher arch than my Sanitas, which might be a problem if you have a low arch, meaning they could hurt your feet walking around. The other review I had read prior to order said it takes a long time to break these in, and I would agree after seeing the leather, as it is thick and looks like it would take time, unlike my Sanitas. I also read by the manufacturer, that if worn outside and they get wet, do not dry them out quickly, but allow them to dry slowly at temperature and they should not crack as the other reviewer pointed out who said to only wear them in nice weather. I bought them to wear in any weather and I will if I keep them.They appear as if they could last a lifetime with proper use and care. And my pair fit as I expected which was a concern as I can wear a 10.5 to 11 normally, and at size 44 these were perfect for me. The site says to order a half size larger, but that is if you have a wide foot or high instep (I think). I would suggest going with the normal size you would wear and not order a half size larger unless the above is true for you.In short the shoe is as expected but the Amazon page is wrong in their description, so I will not fault the shoe for that and will take it up with Amazon. I will give three stars with this explanation and once the page is corrected I will change my rating to reflect the actual clog itself.Happy shopping!
